Assignment Overview

The assignment emphasizes key networking skills, including internetwork building, topology creation, VLSM, IP addressing, and router configurations. Students are guided through a detailed set of instructions to ensure a structured and organized approach to network design and implementation.

Key Components of the Assignment:

  1. Team Continuity: The same teams from Assignment 1 will continue without any alterations in membership.

  2. Internetwork Building: Establish a network using a router equipped with specific modules and switches to support the design.

  3. Topology Creation: Design a custom network topology, utilizing proper cable types and ports based on a provided example.

  4. VLSM and IP Addressing: Implement Variable Length Subnet Masking (VLSM) to fit the specifications of the network and document all subnet addresses in the Packet Tracer (PT) file.

  5. IP Configuration: Assign IP addresses to devices within the created topology and document all configurations in the PT file.

  6. Router Configuration: Configure essential security features and documentation settings on the router, ensuring all configurations are preserved.

  7. Connectivity Testing: Perform connectivity tests using ping and traceroute commands to validate network configurations.

  8. Configuration Persistence: Save all configurations to NVRAM to ensure they are retained after reboot.

  9. Submission Guidelines: Compile the completed PT file, ensuring it contains all necessary documentation and team member details, and submit it by the deadline.

Important Dates

  • Submission Deadline: 3 January 2024, 23:59
  • Teams must adhere strictly to submission protocols, as late submissions are not accepted. All students are reminded of the departmental policies regarding plagiarism, which will be strictly enforced.

This repository serves as a structured solution framework, outlining both the theoretical and practical aspects of the assignment, aimed at enhancing the students’ networking skills.
