3D Tile Tools for Godot

Enhance your game development workflow with 3D Tile Tools for Godot, a powerful library designed for seamless integration between Blender and Godot. This toolset allows developers to efficiently cut scenes into 3D tiles using Blender and subsequently import these tiles into Godot to create dynamic 3D maps.

Key Features

  • Blender Integration: Easily cut scenes into 3D tiles using the Blender plugin, optimizing your assets for game development.
  • Godot Compatibility: Generate and import 3D maps effortlessly within Godot Engine, streamlining the level design process.

Workflow Overview

  1. Exporting from Blender:

    • Open your Blender project located in CRWTILES_demo/resources/tiles.blend (Note: Compatibility is with Blender 2.93.18).
    • Install the crwtiles addon from the /blender/crwtiles directory, enabling a dedicated "3D Tile" tool in the 3D view.
    • Utilize the "3D Tile" tab to generate and export your tiles.
  2. Importing to Godot:

    • Activate the CRWTILES plugin within Godot.
    • Create a new Resource file named CRWTILES_TileAtlasResource in CRWTILES_demo/resources/exports/crwtiles/tile_library.tres.
    • Link the scene file in the inspector with the Blender exported tile library (CRWTILES_demo/resources/exports/crwtiles/tile_library.glb).

By utilizing the CRW Tiles library, developers can enhance their projects while maintaining freedom in their workflow. The library is provided for free, encouraging creativity and innovation in game development without standalone redistribution.
