Dao Heart v3.14
Governed value evolution for minds that must change without losing themselves.
Pitch

Dao Heart v3.14 is a runnable symbolic alignment scaffold for AI systems that need to change without losing themselves. It models values as explicit networks and governs major updates through audit, adversarial stress testing, human approval, warmth preservation, memory healing, sovereignty routing, and overconfidence climb down.

Description

What is Dao Heart v3.14?

Dao Heart v3.14 is an independent research prototype for identity preserving value evolution in AI systems.

Most alignment approaches treat values as fixed principles, learned preferences, or scalar rewards. Dao Heart explores a different direction: what if values were represented as explicit, inspectable networks, and any major change to those values had to pass through governance, audit, adversarial stress testing, and human approval?

The framework models values as interconnected nodes with support and tension relationships. This makes trade offs visible instead of hiding them inside a single reward signal. It also introduces mechanisms designed to help systems adapt without losing their core identity.

Key Features

  • Explicit Value Networks : values are represented as nodes with weighted relationships rather than collapsed into one objective.
  • Governed Value Change : major updates pass through structured review, simulation, adversarial testing, and approval.
  • Identity Preservation : core values resist drift while allowing bounded adaptation.
  • Warmth Preservation : prosocial warmth is treated as a load-bearing invariant, not an optional tone.
  • Dual Mode Memory Healing : memory can preserve lessons while releasing harmful loops.
  • Sovereignty Aware Routing : the system can distinguish between assisting, guiding, inquiring, witnessing, and creative exploration.
  • Overconfidence Climb Down : excessive value activation can be explicitly reduced.
  • Narrative Layer : formal value structures are grounded in pre-formal stories, metaphors, and principles.
  • Audit and Human Approval : major changes are designed to remain inspectable, reversible, and human-governed.
  • Claim Boundary Discipline : the project explicitly avoids claiming that it solves alignment or guarantees AI safety.

Who It Is For

Dao Heart is aimed at:

  • AI safety researchers
  • agent developers
  • alignment and governance researchers
  • symbolic AI builders
  • interpretability researchers
  • human in the loop system designers
  • anyone exploring how AI systems might change values without losing coherence, corrigibility, or identity continuity

What It Is Not

Dao Heart does not claim to solve AI alignment. It is not a production safety system. It is not a guarantee of AGI or ASI safety.

It is a research scaffold for testing one central question:

How can a system change without losing itself?
