Privacy Policy
How PitchHut collects, uses, and protects your information.
Last updated: August 2, 2026
1. Who we are
PitchHut ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by Nano Leaps Ltd. ("Nano Leaps"), a company registered in the United Kingdom. Our registered address is 71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data when you use PitchHut at pitchhut.com. For more about Nano Leaps, visit nanoleaps.com.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use PitchHut, we may collect:
- Account information — email address, username, and authentication details when you sign up with email magic link or Google sign-in.
- Profile and content — project details, pitches, showcase pages, comments, likes, and other content you submit.
- Usage and activity data — pitch views, token balances, boost activity, reputation signals, and similar product interactions.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, approximate location derived from IP, and cookies or similar technologies needed for authentication and analytics.
- Communications — messages you send us (for example support requests or token purchase requests) and your email preference settings.
- Third-party project metadata — when you import a public GitHub repository, we may retrieve publicly available repository metadata such as name, description, and preview images.
3. How we use your information
We use personal data to:
- Provide, operate, and improve PitchHut, including accounts, pitches, projects, and leaderboards
- Authenticate you and keep your session secure
- Show your public profile, projects, and activity to other users where the product is designed to be public
- Send transactional emails (such as login links) and, where enabled, product updates and activity notifications
- Measure product usage and diagnose issues using analytics
- Respond to support requests and process token purchase requests
- Detect abuse, enforce our rules, and protect the platform
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Legal bases for processing
If you are in the UK or EEA, we process personal data under one or more of these bases:
- Contract — to provide the service you request
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the product in ways that do not override your rights
- Consent — where required (for example certain optional emails or analytics, where applicable)
- Legal obligation — where we must keep or disclose information to comply with law
5. Public information
PitchHut is a discovery network. Information you choose to make public — such as your username, published projects, pitches, comments, and leaderboard standing — can be viewed by other users and may be indexed by search engines. Do not post information you want to keep private.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the product is used. Essential cookies are required for authentication and core functionality. Analytics tools may set their own cookies or local storage keys.
7. Analytics
We use PostHog to understand product usage (for example page views and feature interactions). When you are signed in, analytics events may be associated with your user id and email so we can improve the product. We configure analytics differently in non-production environments and may disable capturing there.
8. Service providers
We share personal data with service providers who help us run PitchHut, including:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers
- Authentication and database providers (including Supabase)
- Email delivery providers
- Analytics providers (including PostHog)
- Google, when you choose to sign in with Google
These providers process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own terms, and only as needed to provide their services to us.
9. International transfers
We are based in the United Kingdom. Some providers may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or the provider's equivalent transfer mechanism.
10. Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide PitchHut, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and meet legal, tax, or accounting requirements. If you delete your account or ask us to erase personal data, we will delete or anonymize it unless we need to retain it for a legitimate reason (for example security logs or legal compliance).
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive a portable copy of your data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO)
You can update many account settings directly in PitchHut, including email preferences. For other requests, contact us using the details below.
12. Children
PitchHut is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the product or by email where appropriate. Continued use of PitchHut after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
