A local CLI for recording and inspecting Codex runs.
Project details
AgentTM is a Go CLI tool designed for efficiently recording real, noninteractive Codex runs with powerful SQLite management. It features an integrated React/TypeScript UI for detailed session inspection, historical timelines, and file analysis, ensuring a seamless workflow and robust development tracking across multiple platforms.
Agent Time Machine v0.1
Agent Time Machine (AgentTM) is a robust local CLI application built with Go that facilitates the recording of real, AgentTM-managed noninteractive Codex runs. This innovative solution utilizes SQLite to manage and store recordings, complete with baseline and final workspace checkpoints as well as historical file inspections. The application features an embedded React and TypeScript user interface that allows users to navigate through their recorded sessions, timelines, historical files, parent diffs, and isolated worktree forks.
The current implementation achieves Milestones 0–5 as outlined in the MVP specification.
Simply initialize a Git repository and run AgentTM to open the user interface:
$agenttm = 'C:\dev\AgentTM\bin\agenttm.exe'
& $agenttm ui
This command will launch the interface at http://127.0.0.1:7331. Users can interactively select sessions to explore timelines or checkpoints, view historical files with a read-only viewer, compare modified paths, and access detailed activity logs. Any observed event can be labeled, and management of isolated worktree forks is straightforward with checkpoint recovery options.
The following capabilities provide enhanced functionality:
For a demonstration in a disposable repository:
$demo = Join-Path $env:TEMP ('agenttm-demo-' + [guid]::NewGuid())
New-Item -ItemType Directory $demo | Out-Null
Set-Location $demo
git init
& $agenttm init
& $agenttm doctor
Set-Content -LiteralPath snapshot-demo.txt -Value 'Original content'
& $agenttm run codex --model gpt-6.1-sol -- 'Reply with a short greeting. Do not change files.'
& $agenttm sessions
For developers, the application is built to ensure flexibility and efficiency when restoring or observing project states, with no Git or SQLite installation needed to run the executable after installation.
AgentTM ensures secure handling of recorded data. It creates configurations and databases with transactions while adhering to privacy standards; however, caution should be exercised when sharing recordings, as file objects are preserved in their exact byte form without content redaction.
Overall, Agent Time Machine provides a comprehensive solution to manage Codex runs effectively while maintaining a rich set of features aimed at improving workflow and productivity in coding environments.
