AirPodsLikeNormal enables Android (and Linux) users to access Apple-exclusive AirPods features like ear detection, conversational awareness, and battery levels. The app offers an intuitive interface and supports various AirPods models, ensuring enhanced AirPods utility beyond the Apple ecosystem.
AirPodsLikeNormal (ALN) extends the usability of AirPods by a great extent, by making many features, traditionally restricted to Apple devices, to Linux and Android. It allows users to use features like ear detection, conversational awareness, battery level monitoring, changing noise control modes, and more, directly from their non-Apple device!
Unlike currently available applications, which rely on AirPods to occasionaly broadcast incomplete data to non-apple devices, this app is capable of communicating with AirPods just like Apple's operating systems would do. And, this app can even send data to AirPods which the BLE broadcasts-based apps are incapable of.
Although primarily tested with the AirPods Pro 2, other AirPods models will also benefit from the implemented features. Extra features like Noise Control modes would be shown even for unsupported devices.
Currently deprecated and awaiting a rewrite. Features include ear detection and noise control changes, facilitated by a UNIX socket-connected tray app.
For Android users, a workaround exists to overcome a bug in the Bluetooth stack. This temporary solution, designed for Android versions 14 and 15, requires root access and addresses Bluetooth connectivity issues that otherwise hinder AirPod functionality.
