Chi

Chi is an open-source local AI chatbot designed to facilitate seamless interactions and enhance user experiences through its advanced conversational capabilities. Leveraging the latest AI technologies, Chi offers a customizable and interactive environment for users to engage in meaningful dialogues.

Key Features

Model Selection

Chi supports model selection, allowing users to choose from a variety of models optimized for LlaMA 3 style prompts. Selected models are saved in a config.ini file for ease of future use. To choose a model, navigate to the settings menu and select 'Open file' to locate and load the desired .gguf model.

Generation Parameters

Chi provides control over response generation through adjustable parameters:

• Tokens: Determines the maximum length of the chatbot's response. Increasing token count enables longer replies.
• Temperature: Influences the creativity of the responses. A lower temperature results in more logical and straightforward answers, while a higher temperature encourages creative, albeit less logic-based, outputs.

Quick Action Buttons

In the chat interface, Chi features three unique buttons designed to modify responses effectively:

• Explain like I'm 5: Simplifies complex concepts for easy understanding.
• Explain thoroughly: Provides detailed explanations with examples.
• Explain efficiently: Offers concise information without unnecessary details.

Personality Customization

Users can tailor Chi's personality by entering custom instructions within the settings section. These preferences are preserved in config.ini, ensuring your personalized settings remain intact.

Chi presents a unique solution for those interested in harnessing the power of AI for interactive chatting experiences. For those looking to delve deeper into the development process or contribute to the project, further collaboration details are available in the CONTRIBUTING.md file.
