The economic consequences are staggering, with ME/CFS and Long COVID causing an estimated annual productivity loss between $600 billion and $1 trillion. This hidden crisis rivals the GDP of entire nations, reinforcing the urgent need for attention and action.
The quality of life for patients with ME/CFS is alarmingly poor, frequently ranked below various severe illnesses. The stigma surrounding the illness often leads to inadequate care and misunderstanding, resulting in critical consequences for those affected.
