FreeNeta is a lightweight PROFINET discovery and commissioning tool developed in Python, designed for ease of use and efficiency. It enables quick discovery and configuration of PROFINET devices using Device Control Protocol (DCP), eliminating the need for cumbersome vendor-specific tools.

This project was initiated to overcome the challenges posed by heavyweight tools, such as Siemens' PRONETA, which require personal data for access. FreeNeta offers a simple, open-source solution for essential discovery and diagnostic functionalities.
