Project details
GitHub Activity Graph Populator (GAGP) allows users to customize their GitHub activity graphs with unique patterns like tree, checkmark, or wave. With zero dependencies and high test coverage, this lightweight tool makes it easy to add creative flair to your profile while demonstrating contributions over time.
GitHub Activity Graph Populator (GAGP) is a versatile tool designed to enhance the appearance of your GitHub activity graph. By enabling users to visualize their contributions through various eye-catching patterns, GAGP provides an easy way to create a vibrant and busy-looking GitHub profile.
Demonstrations of GAGP in action can be viewed on the creator's GitHub profile. Here are examples of the transformations:
2012: Original activity graph.
2012: Activity graph after applying the flower pattern.
2013: Original activity graph.
2013: Activity graph transformed using the tree pattern.
Initially developed to represent Bitbucket activity, GAGP allows users to depict their activity on GitHub without the hassle of syncing jobs or dealing with APIs. The goal was to create a fun and engaging tool for visualizing contribution patterns.
To use GAGP, ensure a public repository is created, then apply the desired pattern using the command line interface (CLI). Here are a couple of typical commands:
# Create a colorful tree pattern
gagp --matrix tree --from 2013-01-01 --to 2013-04-01 --repo username/repo
# Activate busy mode
gagp --mode busy --from 2013-01-01 --to 2013-04-01 --repo username/repo
Custom matrices can also be implemented:
gagp --matrix custom --custom-matrix path/to/custom_matrix.txt --from 2013-01-01 --to 2013-04-01 --repo username/repo
The custom matrix should consist of 7 rows and at least one column, using values from 0 to 4 to determine colors.
Contributors are welcome to enhance GAGP's functionality. For more detailed contribution guidelines, refer to the Contributing Guide.
