Gpu-Shark

GPU Shark

GPU Shark is a compact and efficient telemetry monitor designed specifically for Windows, providing insightful and honest NVIDIA GPU telemetry without unnecessary complexity. The application operates in a lightweight Win32 environment, ensuring that measurements reflect actual hardware and driver capabilities. Unlike other utilities, GPU Shark does not modify driver settings or require a kernel driver installation, offering a strictly read-only experience.

Key Features

• Real-time Monitoring: Access essential metrics including GPU Core, HotSpot, and VRAM temperatures when available. GPU Shark respects the integrity of data, only displaying readings that the hardware exposes.
• Detailed Insights: Decode NVIDIA PerfCap reasons compatible with GPU-Z, providing clarity on power and thermal throttling conditions such as Pwr, Thrm, and VRel.
• Customizable Dashboard: A flicker-free dashboard with a configurable refresh interval allows for an optimal monitoring experience. The application supports multiple fan RPM readings, separate power measurements, and voltage tracking.
• Persistent Preferences: Users can set persistent language and interface options, ensuring a tailored experience that meets individual needs.

GPU Compatibility

GPU Shark supports a range of NVIDIA GPUs, leveraging a regular driver pattern to ensure compatibility. The specifics of available sensors vary depending on the GPU model, board design, and associated firmware. A detailed GPU support list is available in the SUPPORTED_GPUS.md file.

GPU Model	Core Temp	HotSpot Temp	VRAM Temp	Profile Status
GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER	Yes	Validated	Board-dependent	Validated
GeForce RTX 3080	Yes	Validated	Validated	Validated
GeForce RTX 4090	Yes	Validated	Under validation	HotSpot validated

Roadmap and Future Development

The project roadmap reflects ongoing development priorities, with a focus on expanding sensor support and enhancing the graphical interface. Future plans also include exploring potential compatibility with AMD GPU models once sufficient data and supporting contracts are established.

Privacy and User Feedback

GPU Shark prioritizes user privacy by ensuring that no telemetry is transmitted without explicit consent. Users can provide feedback through a dedicated form that maintains confidentiality regarding sensitive system specifications.

Conclusion

For those requiring a straightforward, user-friendly tool to monitor NVIDIA GPU performance metrics without the overhead of complex monitoring software, GPU Shark stands as a robust solution. Its focus on honesty and accuracy in telemetry data ensures that users receive reliable insights into their hardware's performance.
