By leveraging large language model (LLM) integration, such as OpenAI, the tool not only corrects grammar but also refines writing tone and style.

Instant Corrections: Select text and receive improvement suggestions in a convenient popup, with the corrected text automatically copied to the clipboard.

User-Controlled: Users can input their own LLM API key, ensuring no usage quotas from GrammifyAI itself; the experience is solely dependent on the individual LLM API billing.

Usage Instructions:

Select any text requiring enhancement.
Press ⌘ + U to view suggested changes.
Review corrections using the intuitive diff view.
Copy the improved text with ⌘ + V.

Limitations:

Currently does not support Google Docs.
Some LLM suggestions may inadvertently alter the meaning, especially for sensitive topics.

GrammifyAI was created to assist learners, like those studying German, who seek immediate feedback on their writing without the friction of switching apps or engaging in lengthy conversations with AI chatbots. While established tools such as Grammarly excel in English support, they often come with high subscription fees. GrammifyAI offers an efficient alternative by utilizing affordable LLM APIs.

Privacy Considerations:

The application uses your API key solely for connecting to the LLM (default: OpenAI) and does not share that information externally. The key is stored locally without encryption, so users should be mindful of their security. For those concerned, the source code is available for review and self-build options.
