Locus

Locus is a self-hosted solution for extracting business leads from Google Maps and enhancing them with AI-verified emails. This open-source project allows users to search specific locations and categories, retrieve real business listings, and enrich this data with verified contact information—all without the need for third-party accounts or fees.

• Location-Based Search: Retrieve authentic Google Maps business listings by specifying a location, category, and radius. The results are streamed live using WebSockets, providing real-time feedback on the process.
• Bulk Search Capabilities: Upload a CSV file containing multiple query/location pairs to execute up to 50 searches simultaneously, streamlining the lead collection process.
• AI Enrichment: Each business listing is processed through an AI enrichment step that seeks to obtain and confirm a valid email address from its website, along with phone numbers gathered directly from the listing.
• SMTP Verification: Beyond AI-generated guesses, Locus conducts genuine mailbox verifications to ensure the accuracy of emails through MX lookups and SMTP handshakes.
• Integration with Hunter.io: For users who opt in, Locus can automatically check known emails via Hunter.io before performing the comprehensive website and AI enrichment steps.
• Data Merging: Avoid duplicate entries with cross-session matching, allowing for efficient data management as businesses pulled in different searches are consolidated into a single entry.
• History Tracking: All past searches are logged, including configuration snapshots, enabling users to revisit or re-run previous searches effortlessly.
• Export & Integration Options: Easily export results in CSV, Excel, or JSON formats, or integrate with CRM tools like HubSpot and Salesforce to streamline workflow.

Usage

After setting up the application:

1. Configure API Keys: Input required API keys for both business search and AI enrichment services within the application settings.
2. Initiate Searches: Execute searches individually or in bulk by uploading a CSV file and monitor live results as they compile.
3. Manage Your Leads: Filter, sort, and utilize bulk actions on the leads table. Duplicate entries are merged, allowing for clean and actionable datasets.
4. Historical Data Access: Access and compare past search configurations and results in the history section of the application.

Locus is built using Next.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL, and supports Redis for worker management, making it a robust tool for those looking to enhance their lead generation efforts without relying on external service providers.
