A modern ping tool with real-time diagnostics and network insights.
Project details
sping is a modern, cross-platform network diagnostics CLI written in Rust. It goes beyond traditional ping by combining real-time latency and packet loss monitoring with connection quality scores, gateway/WAN checks and contextual diagnostics. Monitor multiple targets and get clearer insights when network connectivity fails.
sping is an open-source, cross-platform network diagnostics tool written in Rust. It brings together traditional ping functionality, live connectivity monitoring and network context to help users understand not just whether a host responds, but what might be happening when connectivity fails.
Designed for sysadmins, network engineers and developers, sping provides real-time measurements, quality scoring and contextual diagnostics in a lightweight terminal interface.
--diagnose mode investigates outages using additional connectivity checks and a bounded traceroute, reporting what could and couldn't be established.sping --ip option displays local IPv4/IPv6 addresses, interfaces, source addresses and gateway information. Optional --external discovers the address seen by a STUN server.--diagnose mode now repeats its checks during prolonged outages.--icmp option preserves traditional ICMP probing as the default behavior evolves in future versions.Monitor multiple destinations:
sping 192.168.1.1 8.8.8.8 google.com
Investigate a connectivity problem:
sping google.com --diagnose
Inspect host network addresses:
sping --ip
