Project details
Wrangler merges intuitive manual window control with automated tiling for macOS. Its unique HUD grid provides a fast way to snap windows, while drag-and-drop Snap Zones enable ultrawide workflows. Experience a seamless and secure window organization without the hassles of system security compromises.
Wrangler is an open-source window organizer designed specifically for macOS, providing an intuitive solution for managing application windows. It seamlessly integrates interactive grid snapping, edge drop zones, and automated tiling features, enhancing productivity while maintaining system security.
Interactive Grid Overlay: Trigger the grid HUD using ⌥ Space to visually position windows by clicking and dragging across the grid cells. This feature offers real-time feedback with a translucent blueprint of the intended window arrangement.
Snap Zones: Enable drag-and-drop functionality by moving windows to the screen edges or corners, resulting in predefined layouts ideal for ultrawide displays. Layout options include:
Automated Window Tiling: Execute window organization through ⌃ ⌥ T, creating a balanced layout using Binary Space Partitioning (BSP). This automatic feature scales and arranges windows, ensuring no overlap while maintaining focus on the active application.
Multi-Display Management: Effortlessly move windows across multiple displays while preserving their dimensions. Use ⌃ ⌥ → to shift to the next screen and ⌃ ⌥ ← for the previous one.
Width Cycling: Cycle through width presets for windows on multiple presses, offering flexible arrangements like 1/2, 2/3, and 1/3 widths.
Dynamic Stage Manager Clearance: Automatically adjusts window margins when macOS Stage Manager thumbnails are active, preventing obstruction of the stage strip.
In-App Auto-Updates: Keep Wrangler updated with periodic checks for new versions available on GitHub Releases, facilitating easy one-click updates.
Wrangler supports customizable keyboard shortcuts for various actions, including:
| Shortcut | Action | Description |
